What exactly is Deep Water Soloing, and do I need prior climbing experience?
Deep Water Soloing (DWS) is a unique form of rock climbing done over deep water without ropes or harnesses—if you fall, you land in the water! No prior climbing experience is necessary. Our guides will help you choose routes that match your comfort and skill level, so both beginners and experienced climbers can enjoy the adventure.
Is this a guided tour or just a boat rental?
This is a fully guided climbing adventure, not just a boat rental. Your tour includes a certified climbing guide and a professional boat captain who handle everything from safety and gear to finding the best cliff lines for your group. You’ll get expert instruction, top-quality equipment, and access to exclusive locations, making this a seamless, worry-free trip!
Is Deep Water Soloing safe?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. Our expert guides select routes with appropriate water depth, ensuring a safe landing area. We also provide life vests and will guide you on the best falling techniques. If you’re unsure, you can always climb lower and gradually build confidence.
What should I bring for the tour?
We provide the boat, climbing access, and all safety equipment. You should bring:
- Swimsuit or quick-dry clothing
- Water shoes or climbing shoes that can get wet
- Sunscreen and sunglasses
- A towel and a dry change of clothes
- Plenty of water and snacks
- A waterproof bag for personal items
What if I’m not a strong swimmer? Can I still participate?
Yes, but we do recommend that participants feel comfortable in deep water. You’ll be wearing a life vest if needed, and our guides will ensure you feel safe at all times. You can always start with lower climbs and jumps to build confidence before trying more challenging routes.
Are boat tours and Deep Water Soloing still available when lake levels are low?
Yes! Despite what you may read online, our Deep Water Soloing tours are still running. Water levels can fluctuate, but our team knows the lake inside and out and adjusts locations to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience. If the water level ever becomes truly unsafe for climbing (which is rare), we’ll notify you in advance. Otherwise, your adventure is on — and we’ve got the perfect cliffs ready for you.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather conditions are closely monitored before each trip. If conditions aren’t safe (e.g., storms or strong winds), we will reschedule your tour or offer a refund. Our team will communicate with you in advance to make the best decision for your experience.
How many people can go Deep Water Soling at once?
