
Rick Watson Rick Watson started climbing in 1984. Teaching climbing skills and leading outdoor adventures in Central Texas, the Pecos River, and Mexico for over 15 years, he's traveled across the U.S climbing, camping, and hiking. He has established climbing routes in Mexico, the Pecos River, Reimers Ranch, the Austin Greenbelt, Enchanted Rock State Park, and strange stuff here and there, whether bouldering, traditional, or sport climbing. He believes in and supports efforts to access public and private lands for recreation and the sport of climbing.
For three years, Rick was President of Austin's Central Texas Mountaineers and an elected member of the Central Texas Climbing Committee for over ten years. Currently, he is Education Committee Chairman of the Board of The Friends of Enchanted Rock. Rick has taught hundreds of a Boy Scouts of America Climbing Merit Badge classes, and is a field tested AMGA Top Rope Site Manager and one of the first Enchanted Rock Certified Lead Guides.
